A fibre arts guild with emphasis on weaving, spinning, knitting.felting and basketry. We are an active group of fibre enthusiasts who enjoy learning and creating together. Biography
The Qualicum Weavers and Spinners Guild promotes personal growth in the fibre arts through teaching, mentoring and shared experiences. It is the largest guild of its kind in the mid island region and has been a part of the local arts community for over 30 years. The guild maintains a well equipped studio and resource centre at Qualicum Commons, 744 Primrose St in Qualicum Beach where members meet and participate in studio projects and interest groups. Our members interests range from basketry to felting and everything related to creating yarn and making cloth.
The guild has an active workshop program including both in-person and on-line sessions that cover a range of fibre art techniques including, spinning, knitting, felting and dyeing, basketry and weaving. We are one of the few groups that offer harness loom weaving for beginners.

Elegant Threads is our annual fall show and sale that takes place in November. The show features items hand crafted by our members including, table linens, wearable art and accessories, home decor items, and whimsical creations.
