Biography
Maureen Walker is a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and was awarded her Associate Status in 2005. She has been a member of the International Guild of Silk Painters since 1993 and opened her first studio, in Parksville B.C., in 1999, founding the Silk Worm Club (now the Vancouver Island Silk Painters) in 2000. Art educated in England and Europe, she is influenced by early 20th Century painters, particularly Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky.
