About
The first, “Exquisite Corpse,” was a surrealist art game initiated in Paris in 1925, in which a collection of images were collaboratively created on one canvas by a team of three painters. Each artist adds to a composition in sequence, only seeing a portion of the previous artist’s work. The results are unique and full of visual surprises. Our Unveiling Gala Evening is where the Exquisite Corpse Artistic Team and the public see the completed paintings together for the first time.
WAHOOO! The hottest ticket in town is the ticket to our BC Culture Days Exquisite Corpse Unveiling Gala and they are now available. There is a limited number of tickets so get busy if you wish to join us for a fabulous evening of Culinary Arts, Crazy Fashions, Cocktails, a super talented team of 48 Artists and of course, the moment that everyone looks forward to, the unveiling of the Exquisite Corpse paintings and the announcement of the award winners. It’s an absolute blast and has grown every year for the past three years so we’ve rented the entire Jensen Centre for our night of nights.
The official dress code is, “dress to EXPRESS” and our group hits it out of the park every time. We hire a professional photographer and videographer to capture photos and footage of the evening so get yourselves dolled up in whatever feels “exquisite” to you and have your picture taken. There will be 16 paintings this year so our international panel of judges will have their work cut out for them.
NO ticket is required if you wish to see the collection of 16 paintings up close and personal. All are welcome to come to Jensen Centre and see the artwork by walking through the gymnasium area adjacent to the Theatre. You can meet the Artists, dress up in your “exquisite” gear and have your photo taken You might even want to place a bid in the Silent Auction and take one of these incredible paintings home with you.Organizer
