BCCD Volunteers
BCCD OPENING DAY
SET UP
- Saturday, September 21st
- Set up 8:00 am - 10:00 am
- Jensen Centre ~ 132 Jensen Ave
- Volunteer T-Shirts will be provided and must be worn on site so that you can be easily identified.
8 Volunteers are needed for the set up beginning at 8 am on September 21st. We need some “muscle” for the physical set up.
CEREMONY
- Begins @ 11:00 am - 12:00 noon
- Volunteers need to arrive at 10 am
- Soundcheck at 10:00 am
1 Stage Manager to facilitate Sound Check and oversee all stage & guest related elements.
2 Volunteers to greet our dignitaries & speaking guests and performers, and familiarize them with the schedule. Once the ceremony begins, these two volunteers will need to remain with the guests to manage the speaking and performance schedule and ensure that they walk on stage when announced by the Emcee.
ONSITE EVENTS OPENING DAY
18 volunteers will be assigned tasks for the 3 on-site events from 12 pm - 4pm.
Onsite events:
- Artists Village - 10 Market Tents set up and run by 10 individual artists
- Cultural Village - 10 Market Tents set up and run by 10 individual groups
- The Children’s Literary Project - Artist Gina Adams will be leading a workshop where participants will collaborate to write a book that will be illustrated and published. 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm
This job will consist of answering questions for the public, checking on the exhibitors needs, staffing the onsite OCAC/MAC tent to provide information on all BCCD upcoming events etc. This is very “light duty” work and you will have plenty of breaks throughout the day. 3 Team Leads will be responsible for a group of 5 volunteers. Please state if you are interested in a Team Lead, or a Team Member, position. This group of volunteers must be onsite from 11 am until 5 pm.
Tear Down & Pack Up:
At the end of the day, from 4 pm until 5 pm we need volunteers to help pack up the event kits. Ideally, this would be the set up crew and some of the on-site volunteers. No one really loves this job but the more bodies that are willing to help, the faster we can get it all done.
All cleaning duties, inside and outside of the venue are the responsibility of the venue.
