Dianne Nelson has been working as a professional prize-winning artist and teacher for over thirty years. Widely traveled, she has lived and worked in Saskatchewan, Ontario, and British Columbia, as well as spending five years in Queensland, Australia. She most recently lived in the Northwest Territories, where, as an artist in the Great Northern Arts Festival, she took a workshop in painting on silk. This is her present preferred medium. Wildlife and landscapes remain her favorite subjects and colour is her passion. Upon moving to Campbell River in June 2016, Dianne fell in love with the ocean and the moody skies outside her studio. Her view of Quadra Island and Cape Mudge are featured in many of her recent works. She has participated in recent exhibitions at the Filberg Festival in Comox, the Macmillan Arts Centre in Parksville and The Old Schoolhouse in Qualicum Beach.
