A road trip for audiophiles, the inaugural Route 19A Music Festival takes place between August 30th and September 7th. Utilizing local halls in Parksville and Qualicum Beach, the festival offers an eclectic variety of events all the way from young fledgling artists on the first step of the performance ladder to award winning veterans who have reached international status. The program encompasses a total of seven events, four in Qualicum Beach on the weekend of August 30th, and three in Parksville on the weekend of September 6th.
We are especially pleased that the majority of the performers are local to Vancouver Island, and that one of the events is designed around the talents of some of the Island’s youngest performers. The lineup of concerts features a Juno Award winning roots act, a preteen disc jockey, an Irish folk rock band, a Blues/ Cajun dance, Indigenous artists, an all-star Paul Simon Tribute, a Gypsy Jazz Band, Storytelling with Music, and other inspiring performances.
With this invitation, we welcome residents and visitors alike to the community of Oceanside to share in a unique creative opportunity.
